Initial Registration Application

Instructions

The NSCMLT mandate is to ensure applicants are qualified to practice as a medical laboratory technologist (MLT) in Nova Scotia. A license to practice will be granted if the applicant meets the requirements of NSCMLT Regulations section 9 and applicable policies.

In order for this application to be processed you must:

  • Complete this application in full
  • Upload all required documents (see document list below)
  • Pay all applicable fees

IMPORTANT NOTE:

You must have a NSCMLT practicing license before starting employment orientation. It is a violation of the NSCMLT act and/or regulations to practice medical laboratory technology without a license and a fine or penalty will occur. Please refer to sections 39, 40 and 41 of the NSCMLT Act.

All correspondence from NSCMLT will be sent via email. You must use an email address that you monitor regularly when registering with the College. Please add info@nscmlt.org and registrar@nscmlt.org to your safe senders list. If you would prefer a PDF application form, please contact NSCMLT.

Provisional Registration Class: A provisional license allows the medical laboratory technologist (MLT) to temporarily practice as a MLT in Nova Scotia, with conditions and restrictions, until they are able to obtain a full active license

Active Registration Class: Allows the MLT to practice as an MLT in Nova Scotia without any conditions or restriction.
